Il 38M Toldi fu il primo carro armato prodotto in Ungheria e venne intitolato così in memoria di Miklòs Toldi, un cavaliere magiaro vissuto nel XIV secolo. Venne prodotto a partire dal 1939, modificando il carro svedese Stridsvagn L-60B, di cui l'esercito reale ungherese aveva acquistato la licenza di produzione.
Costruito nella fabbrica Manfrèd Weiss di Budapest in 202 esemplari, costituì l'ossatura delle forze corazzate ungheresi durante l'operazione Barbarossa, l'invasione dell'Urss a cui l'Ungheria partecipò come alleata della Germania nazista. Il Toldi era armato con un cannoncino da 20 mm, abbinato in torretta da una mitragliatrice Gebauer da 8 mm, mentre la corazzatura arrivava ad uno spessore massimo di 33 mm. caratteristiche che lo qualificavano come mezzo leggero, adatto per la ricognizione, ma non certo per lo scontro con altri mezzi blindati.
Cosa che invece si trovò a fare nelle pianure russe, dove dovette confrontarsi con i mezzi pesanti sovietici T-34 e KV-1, che per il Toldi erano ovviamente avversari insuperabili. Gran parte dei 38M inquadrati nel Gyorhadtest (il corpo mobile motocorazzato ungherese) vennero perduti nella ritirata dal Donets nel novembre del 1941.
Nella confezione Mussini models si può trovare un modello di 38M Toldi pre-montato, ma non incollato, nè dipinto. E' suddiviso in 4 parti: lo scafo, i due blocchi di ruote e cingoli e la torretta, che è ruotabile.
The 38M Toldi was the first tank produced in Hungary and was named after Miklòs Toldi, a Magyar knight who lived in the 14th century. It was produced starting from 1939, modifying the Swedish Stridsvagn L-60B tank, for which the Royal Hungarian Army had purchased the production license.
Built in the Manfrèd Weiss factory in Budapest in 202 specimens, it formed the backbone of the Hungarian armored forces during Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the USSR in which Hungary participated as an ally of Nazi Germany. The Toldi was armed with a 20 mm cannon, combined in the turret with an 8 mm Gebauer machine gun, while the armor reached a maximum thickness of 33 mm. characteristics that qualified it as a light vehicle, suitable for reconnaissance, but certainly not for the clash with other armored vehicles.
Which instead he found himself doing in the Russian plains, where he had to deal with the heavy Soviet T-34 and KV-1 vehicles, which for Toldi were obviously insurmountable adversaries. Most of the 38Ms employed in the Gyorhadtest (the Hungarian armored mobile corps) were lost in the retreat from the Donets in November 1941.

Returning the goods
After notifying us of your withdrawal you have 14 days to send the products back to us. The item must be returned in its original packaging, with all the parts intact as at the time of delivery. You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
The cost of returning the goods is at your expense, except where the product is damaged or not as described, in which case we bear it.
Refund
We will refund you all payments received, including the cost of standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of the day on which we are informed of your withdrawal. If, when placing the order, you chose a more expensive delivery than the standard one we offer, the difference remains at your expense.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you supply evidence of having sent them back, whichever happens first. The refund is made using the same means of payment used for the purchase, at no additional cost to you.
When the right of withdrawal does not apply
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to measure or clearly personalised (art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code). This category includes models painted on request and work carried out specifically for you: we always tell you before confirming the order.
Damaged, missing or defective products
If one or more items arrive damaged, or if something is missing, write to us straight away at info@mussinisas.it, attaching a photo if possible. We will send the missing or damaged parts, or replace the whole product, at no cost to you.
In addition to the right of withdrawal, as a consumer you are entitled to the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity from delivery, provided for by articles 128 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code. In the event of a lack of conformity you may request the repair or replacement of the goods and, under the conditions laid down by law, a price reduction or the termination of the contract.
Where we accept returns from
We accept returns from any country. For purchases made outside the European Union the same conditions described here apply; any customs duties and import taxes already paid are not refundable by us.
