The Fiat CR32, designed by Celestino Rosatelli, was the main Italian fighter in the 1930s. It was a compact, robust and very maneuverable biplane, although not exceptionally fast. By the time he entered service he was also powerfully armed with his two 12.7 Breda-SAFAT machine-guns, synchronized and firing through the propeller disc. It was built in 1212 units and had its most massive use during the Spanish Civil War, when about 400 CR32s were used by the Aviazione Legionaria (the air branch of the CTV - voluntary troops corps) set up by Mussolini to come to the aid of the nationalist rebels led by the caudillo Francisco Franco. Another 120 fighters were employed directly by the nationalist air force. The performance in battle was very positive, given that with the loss of 73 aircraft, the CR32s claimed the shooting down of 242 Polikarpov I-15 biplanes and 240 Polikarpov I-16 monoplane, as well as 60 Tupolev SB-2 bombers. At the outbreak of the Second World War, the Regia Aeronautica still lined up 294 CR32s, by now desperately surpassed in terms of speed and armament compared to British fighters. Progressively replaced by the more modern (but equally outdated) CR42, they finished their operational cycle in Libya as ground attack aircraft, alongside the few remaining Breda Ba65s.

The 1/200 scale CR32 measures 3.7 cm in length, 4.75 in wingspan. In each package of Mussini models there are 2 aircraft.
