The "Semovente L40 da 47/32" was a light tank destroyer produced by Fiat-SPA and Ansaldo for the Regio esercito (the italian royal army) during the Second World War. It was designed starting from the hull of the L6 / 40 light tank to replace the 47/32 anti-tank gun in the Bersaglieri regiments and was used in Russia, North Africa and Sicily by the Italian units. Given the insufficient performance of the L6, the self-propelled L40 replaced it in the production lines of the SPA in Turin. After 8 September 1943, the Germans used some self-propelled guns with the name of Stug. L6 mit 47/32 630 (i).
In the Mussini package there is a Semovente L40 already assembled, but not glued. The parts of the model are: the two side parts with the tracks and the rolling train, the upper and lower part of the hull: the latter one is only interlocked and with a slight pressure from above it is possible to release the piece in such a way as to be able to paint the inside of the fighting compartment. Also included are the two crew members, which it is possible to insert by placing them on their respective seats from above , or in alternative, glueing them on their seats before completing the model.
