Der Renault R35 war ein leichter Infanterie-Begleitpanzer, der in den 1930er-Jahren in Frankreich entwickelt und in über 1.600 Exemplaren gebaut wurde – einschließlich der rund 100 Fahrzeuge der Version R40 mit überarbeiteter Mechanik. Der Renault R35 war mit einer kurzläufigen 37-mm-Kanone Puteaux SA 18 bewaffnet und für seine Zeit recht stark gepanzert. Das taktische Konzept, das seiner Konstruktion zugrunde lag, verhinderte jedoch einen wirkungsvollen Einsatz gegen die weitaus beweglicheren deutschen Panzer-Divisionen, die Frankreich im Mai und Juni 1940 zu Fall brachten.
Nach dem Waffenstillstand von Compiègne verwendete Deutschland Hunderte R35 als Artilleriezugmaschinen, Munitionsfahrzeuge oder als Fahrgestell für Selbstfahrlafetten mit Panzerabwehr- und Feldgeschützen weiter. Andere gingen an verbündete Länder, etwa an das faschistische Italien, das rund 130 Stück erhielt, und an Bulgarien.
Bei der Truppe erwies sich der Panzer als brauchbar, doch seine Einsatzgeschichte litt stets unter seiner Grundkonzeption als Begleitfahrzeug für die Infanterie: Er war zu langsam, um den schnellen deutschen Panzern etwas entgegenzusetzen. Zudem erwies sich die 37-mm-Kanone Puteaux 18 gegen deutsche Panzerfahrzeuge als völlig wirkungslos – nicht einmal für den leichten Panzer II, den zahlreichsten Typ der deutschen Panzertruppen beim Angriff auf Westeuropa, stellte sie eine ernsthafte Bedrohung dar. Am 10. Mai 1940, dem ersten Tag des Westfeldzugs, waren einundzwanzig Bataillone mit je fünfundvierzig Renault R35 ausgerüstet. Insgesamt standen an der Front 945 Panzer der Typen R35 und R40 im Einsatz.
Bei der Landung auf Sizilien im Juli 1943 gehörten die R35 zur Division Livorno, die sie zum Gegenangriff auf Gela einsetzte. Die veralteten Panzer französischer Bauart wurden im Sizilienfeldzug aufgerieben. Ohne Verluste entkam lediglich das 131. Regiment: Es war Mitte August auf das Festland zurückgekehrt und am 1. September der 136. Panzerdivision Centauro II unterstellt worden, die jedoch infolge der turbulenten Ereignisse nach dem Sturz des Faschismus am 25. Juli bereits am 8. September 1943 aufgelöst wurde. Auf dem Festland befanden sich damals achtzehn Renault R35: Vier wurden bei Belastungstests oder zur Gewinnung mechanischer Teile zerlegt, was mit den übrigen vierzehn geschah, ist nicht bekannt.

Returning the goods
After notifying us of your withdrawal you have 14 days to send the products back to us. The item must be returned in its original packaging, with all the parts intact as at the time of delivery. You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
The cost of returning the goods is at your expense, except where the product is damaged or not as described, in which case we bear it.
Refund
We will refund you all payments received, including the cost of standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of the day on which we are informed of your withdrawal. If, when placing the order, you chose a more expensive delivery than the standard one we offer, the difference remains at your expense.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you supply evidence of having sent them back, whichever happens first. The refund is made using the same means of payment used for the purchase, at no additional cost to you.
When the right of withdrawal does not apply
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to measure or clearly personalised (art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code). This category includes models painted on request and work carried out specifically for you: we always tell you before confirming the order.
Damaged, missing or defective products
If one or more items arrive damaged, or if something is missing, write to us straight away at info@mussinisas.it, attaching a photo if possible. We will send the missing or damaged parts, or replace the whole product, at no cost to you.
In addition to the right of withdrawal, as a consumer you are entitled to the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity from delivery, provided for by articles 128 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code. In the event of a lack of conformity you may request the repair or replacement of the goods and, under the conditions laid down by law, a price reduction or the termination of the contract.
Where we accept returns from
We accept returns from any country. For purchases made outside the European Union the same conditions described here apply; any customs duties and import taxes already paid are not refundable by us.
