Matilde nacque presumibilmente nel marzo del 1046 da Bonifacio III degli Attonidi, potente membro della dinastia degli Attonidi, e da Beatrice, duchessa di Lorena.
Mathilde di Toscana, Gran Contessa, meglio conosciuta come Matilde di Canossa, fu la donna che più di tutte, ancor più degli uomini, difese il Papato nella lotta contro l'Impero
Allorquando il conflitto fra Papato e Impero raggiunse l’apice dello scontro, che fu violento, Matilde, pur non arrivando ad una completa definitiva rottura con l’imperatore Enrico IV, si schierò apertamente dalla parte di Gregorio VII e della Chiesa. Intervenne anche alla Dieta di Trebur, dove assunse una posizione conciliatrice ai fini di un accordo fra l’imperatore e il pontefice. L’orientamento della contessa di Canossa fu considerato con attenzione da coloro che, pur essendo filo-imperiali, non volevano giungere ad un conflitto aperto con la Chiesa di Roma, e, nella speranza di trovare uno spiraglio che consentisse una possibilità di accordo, Matilde appoggiò l’intervento di Gregorio VII alla dieta di Augusta, dove il pontefice si propose di esaminare la posizione di Enrico IV e dei suoi nobili sostenitori con la massima obiettività. Sempre con le stesse intenzioni conciliatrici la contessa appoggiò il viaggio di papa Gregorio VII attraverso i suoi feudi emiliano-lombardi canossiani e lo ospitò proprio nella Rocca di Canossa quando, nel gennaio del 1077, si seppe che Enrico IV era partito alla volta dell’Italia con obiettivi non del tutto chiari e pacifici nei confronti del Pontefice.
Di Matilde, donna del Medioevo, sottolineiamo il grande coraggio, la determinazione e la capacità di implementare azioni politiche con lucidità e costanza, nonostante i rischi cui si espose, sempre certa della bontà dei suoi proponimenti e della positiva conclusione della sua azione politica.
Fu straordinaria alleata di Ildebrando di Soana, divenuto Papa Gregorio VII, di cui riuscì a conquistare la stima e la perdurante considerazione.
Vissuta a lungo per quei tempi, morì il 24 luglio del 1115 a Bondeno di Roncore.

Returning the goods
After notifying us of your withdrawal you have 14 days to send the products back to us. The item must be returned in its original packaging, with all the parts intact as at the time of delivery. You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
The cost of returning the goods is at your expense, except where the product is damaged or not as described, in which case we bear it.
Refund
We will refund you all payments received, including the cost of standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of the day on which we are informed of your withdrawal. If, when placing the order, you chose a more expensive delivery than the standard one we offer, the difference remains at your expense.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you supply evidence of having sent them back, whichever happens first. The refund is made using the same means of payment used for the purchase, at no additional cost to you.
When the right of withdrawal does not apply
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to measure or clearly personalised (art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code). This category includes models painted on request and work carried out specifically for you: we always tell you before confirming the order.
Damaged, missing or defective products
If one or more items arrive damaged, or if something is missing, write to us straight away at info@mussinisas.it, attaching a photo if possible. We will send the missing or damaged parts, or replace the whole product, at no cost to you.
In addition to the right of withdrawal, as a consumer you are entitled to the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity from delivery, provided for by articles 128 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code. In the event of a lack of conformity you may request the repair or replacement of the goods and, under the conditions laid down by law, a price reduction or the termination of the contract.
Where we accept returns from
We accept returns from any country. For purchases made outside the European Union the same conditions described here apply; any customs duties and import taxes already paid are not refundable by us.
